Passing away of Ms Roseline Thabethe

Posted on April 09, 2019

Dear TuksSport and hpc Family,

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have to confirm the passing of one of our colleagues, a friend and family member. Rose Thabethe – or Rosie, as she was fondly known – passed away on Friday 5 April.

Rose has been part of the greater UP Sport system for many years, spanning more than 15 years. She was first employed within the hpc business in the food and beverage and banqueting departments. During her later years she spent time within the TuksSport facilities division. Within all these areas of work, Rose was known to always be willing to listen, take care, share a smile, ask how you are and be willing to help! It was the small things she did when no one was watching that made her a valuable team member within our organisations. She impacted many!

Each and every one of us, in whatever role and job we find ourselves, contributes in many different ways to the successes of our athletes and teams between the four white lines. May we each continue to do so and use her work ethic and attitude toward life, colleagues and family as an example to us all. Roseline Thabethe has left the Tuks Stripe in a better place!

On behalf of the TuksSport & hpc Executive and her colleagues within the facilities division, we wish to express our sincere condolences to her family, especially her children, friends and loved ones. During a difficult time like this, whilst we consider why this happened, may we take time to celebrate the life of Rose, the love she shared and the impact that she made both in her families lives, our lives and those she shared day-to-day interactions and work with. May we keep all those close to Rose in our prayers.

May her soul rest in peace.

Funeral arrangements will be communicated once finalised.

Sincere regards
