iGaPP Programme

At the University of Pretoria we deal with a lot of information. From the information we collect about our students, to the information we create when we do research; information is pivotal to what we do. By harnessing the power of information appropriately, we can be better teachers, researchers, and innovators.

To be able to manage and use information properly and in a responsible way, we need to understand where the risks are. To help us achieve this, we are putting systems and structures in place. That is why the University has embarked on a three-year Information Governance and Privacy Protection (iGaPP) programme. This will put the structures in place from where we can build something we can be proud of.

Good information governance is not a short-term initiative, it is a long-term goal. For more information on the iGaPP Programme, visit https://www.up.ac.za/iGaPP-programme

Kind regards
