Posted on August 30, 2017

You are cordially invited to a public lecture on 'Crowdsourcing for Innovation', which will be presented by Dr Maryse Chappin from the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.

Date: Monday, 11 September 2017
Time: 12:30–13:30
Venue: Conference Hall 100, UP Conference Centre, Hatfield Campus
RSVP:  [email protected] by Monday, 4 September 2017

In her lecture, Dr Chappin will explore crowdsourcing for innovation. As the name implies, crowdsourcing means outsourcing to the crowd. More and more organisations have started to make use of crowdsourcing for innovation-related questions and problems. To introduce the topic, Dr Chappin will discuss the background to crowdsourcing and present the results of some of her co-authored papers on crowdsourcing for innovation. Her initial focus will be on how the design and process influence the outcome of crowdsourcing events, after which she will share her insights on what explains the success of ideas and ideators.

Brief biographical sketch

Maryse Chappin is an assistant professor at the Innovation Studies group of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
