Winter field research opportunity for UP students

Seeking a University of Pretoria student to join the Malaria Awareness Program (MAP) for its research and programme implementation in Limpopo and Mpumalanga from June-August of 2016. This student researcher will work alongside Programme Coordinators to implement the programme and assist in the research/evaluation process. The student will contribute to greater health knowledge of participants, as well as create a strong bond with the community and further increase the sustainability of the programme.

LOCATION: Skukuza Camp, Kruger National Park and HaMakuya, Limpopo Province.

TIME: 7 to 10 weeks (between June - August). The approximate breakdown of work is as follows, but varies significantly depending on organizational needs and expansion plans from year to year:

  • 2 weeks of training, programme prep, etc
  • 4 weeks of HBCW training and MAP workshops
  • 1 week wrap up for final data collection, analysis, stakeholder interviews, and preparation for the next iteration of MAP.
