Events policy

Dear colleagues and students
 
We wish to draw your attention to a new policy approved by the UP Executive that applies to all events at the University of Pretoria, all campuses and properties, and all staff and students. In addition, the policy applies to all tenants of the University, be it on campuses or housed in any other property owned or leased by or to the University.
 
This policy provides a framework for planning and scheduling events such as meetings, exhibitions, performances, conferences, training and recreational events to be held at the University. By providing a uniform approach to event planning and evaluation, we hope to make the process of planning events consistent across the University.
 
Given the large volume of events, the internal and external demand for venues and facilities, the impact of events on the facilities and related services of the University, the requirements of newly introduced legislation and the negative implications of overuse of facilities, it became necessary to introduce this policy.
 
We encourage you to read the policy which is available on the policies pages of both the staff and student intranet platforms.
