Dear colleagues

We are pleased to announce that an Information and Data Governance (IDG) Framework Policy and Matrix for the University of Pretoria were approved by the Executive. The main purpose of the IDG Framework Policy is to define the principles and guidelines for managing institutional information owned or produced by the University of Pretoria.

This Policy is supported by the IDG Matrix which defines:

1. what information will be actively managed within this framework;
2. who is accountable and responsible for the information in this management process; and
3. where managed information can be located by those who need to access it.

The IDG Framework Policy is applicable to all areas of the University in order to create and maintain a standard with regard to the quality, integrity and authenticity of information, as well as the efficient and effective flow of information.

The Policy and Matrix are available on the policies page of the staff intranet.
