The programme provides health professionals with the tools needed to make the right decisions when assisting victims of emergencies involving large populations. It provides participants with an overview of the main legal instruments, particularly international law that provides legal protection for victims of armed conflicts.
The course examines the health-related ethical issues in humanitarian actions to improve health policies.
Relevant experience in the field of management of emergencies will be an added advantage because after attending the course, delegates should be able to set the scene for common approaches to public health among humanitarian organisations.
