78% percent of the learners passed with university exemption – the highest percentage yet in the 10-year existence of the school. It was a close run between the top 6 learners who all scored an overall average of 75%+ (their averages exclude Life Orientation which would have pushed up the averages even higher).
Not only is Natasha de Vos the only girl in the top 5, but she showed the boys a thing or too by achieving an overall average of 84% and four distinctions. Boris Kulikowski, the leader of the distinction race, obtained 5 distinctions and an overall average of 80%. Neil de Villiers and Henry Swanepoel both boast a 79% average and John van Duyn and Jarryd van den Berg obtained averages of 78% and 76% respectively.
Other exceptional performances include the following results: Neil de Villiers – 94% (Afrikaans); Natasha de Vos - 89% (CAT) and 88% (Life Science) ; Udell Hammond-Smith - 91% (Maths Literacy), Nigel Vela - 87% (Maths literacy); Vuyo Mkhabela – 87% (IsiZulu) and Jabulile Mazibuko - 86% (IsiZulu).
The class of 2011 have truly done justice to their school motto - The Will to Do the Heart to Win.
