In the final Gauteng North beat Northwest South 32-28.
On their way to the final Gauteng North also took care of defending national champions, Nelson Mandela Bay as well as Boland, the 2009 Merit champions and always a factor with its strong contingent of Matie players.
To add to the championship title Tuks’ oustanding Protea centre Erin Burger was named Player of the Tournament.
