AmaTuks

It was during this critical part of the match that AmaTuks showed true determination.

Team manager, Graham Oosthuis said it was a particularly satisfying win since the going is definitely tougher this year. That AmaTuks’ win to secure a booking in the quarter-finals took place in the Rand Stadium was even very special as it was on the same pitch where they lost in the 2009 Nedbank Cup final.

Opening the penalty shoot, was AmaTuks’ captain, Joseph Mthombeni followed by Miguel Rodrigues. AmaTuks’ goalkeeper, Siya Mngoma’s blocked two of Cosmos’ shots which left Phethego Maebela and Thabang Monare to finish the task for the UP students.

Phethego got the nod as man of the match.

“It’s mixed emotions when you get called for the man of the match award, but a handful of thanks to my team mates, coaches and the support we had” said Disco, as he more commonly known.
