The ALCRL launches the Integrated Reporting Draft Consultation Framework

Posted on April 22, 2013

The Draft Consultation Framework, as issued by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), was launched on this day. The aim of the IIRC is to launch the first version of the Framework in December 2013, pending the global feedback on the draft, which is open for public comment until 15 July 2013.

The Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership (ALCRL) celebrated this important global launch. Kate Jeffries, the Head of programmes at the IIRC, located in London, was the guest speaker during this event. It was also the first check-in session for the students participating in the Postgraduate Diploma in Integrated Reporting (sponsored by PwC). Jeffries addressed the students and provided them with the latest thinking around the consultation draft and answered a number of questions that students had in this regard. However, the major topic of discussion centered around the fact that shareholders are deemed to be the primary audience of integrated reports. This in itself suggests a critical inflection point for the future of integrated reporting and warrants significant deliberations in future.
