The EDHE Lekgotla 2021 is an exciting four-day gathering of university leaders, academics, support professionals, students, practitioners and thought leaders that looks at the higher education entrepreneurship community in South Africa. The theme of the EDHE Lekgotla 2021 is entrepreneurship #againstallodds, informed by the imperative of developing entrepreneurship despite challenges in the broader socio-economic context and its impact on the higher education sector.

EDHE is the national programme established as a platform to advance the development of entrepreneurship in universities. It is aimed at making an impact in terms of equipping every student for economic participation through entrepreneurial activity, with an emphasis on female students; supporting academics and support professionals to develop entrepreneurship through teaching, learning and research across disciplines; and supporting universities as entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystems, which includes relevant policy development.

The event includes a Studentpreneurs Indaba aimed at showcasing leading studentpreneurs and their businesses. The EDHE Studentpreneurs Indaba 2021 also gives a voice to leading student entrepreneurs, thus influencing the work of the EDHE.
