Module content | Most projects contract out some if not all project work to other organisations or internally. Procurement is the process of selecting, contracting and acquiring goods, services or works from an external source and is thus a vital part of project management. The objective of this module is that learners are able to select and apply a meaningful and sensible procurement strategy appropriate to the project. Topics to be covered include the procurement decision; law of contract, the procurement process; various aspects of procurement planning such as procurement methods, source selection, risk allocation, contracting strategies, contract payment types, standard forms of contract; control and dispute resolution. |
