Mr Naeem Moolla was appointed as Executive Director: Finance and Business Initiatives of the University of Pretoria from 1 July 2025 and is responsible for the management of the finances as well as other business initiatives of the University.

Mr Moolla has a distinguished record of financial leadership and experience in higher education spanning over 15 years.

His educational journey is marked by notable achievements, including a Master’s Degree in Accounting Sciences from the University of Pretoria. He is registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and was awarded the Golden Key National Honour Certificate in 2000 for outstanding scholastic achievement.

In addition to his responsibility at the University of Pretoria, Mr Moolla has made significant contributions to entities associated with the Higher Education Sector, including serving as Chairperson of PURCO SA (Purchasing Consortium Southern Africa). He is also a board member of Foundations established in the United States of America and the United Kingdom and other entities associated with the University.

He also serves as the Chairman of the University of Pretoria’s pension and provident funds.
