The event was created with a dual purpose: to promote proper hand hygiene practices and to encourage lasting behavioural change among attendees — all while keeping the experience fun and engaging.
The initiative proved both informative and lively.
A standout moment was the
#20SecondHandHygieneChallenge, where participants took part in a 20-second hand-washing routine set to a catchy tune, turning a critical hygiene lesson into an exciting challenge. This fun activity helped reinforce a vital biosecurity habit in a memorable way.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere were various exhibits and interactive booths.
These included displays from the Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital (OVAH), the faculty’s Skills Lab, a gumboot-cleaning station, and F10 booths that featured entertaining and educational exercises, raffles and lucky draws.
Together, these components created a festive environment while delivering essential knowledge on protecting the faculty’s campus, the wider community, and beyond.
