Attention Academic Staff Members: Submission of Prescribed Textbooks Data for Second Semester 2024

Posted on April 23, 2024

The Department of Library Services calls on all academic staff members to participate in the submission of prescribed textbooks data for the second semester of 2024.

The submission period for prescribed textbooks data for the second semester of 2024 is now open. The database will close on 30 April 2024. You can access the submission link on the library’s website under "Borrow & Request" at http://www.nevada-cloud.com/.

Please ensure timely submission of your prescribed books or delegate this task to your departmental administrator for upload on your behalf.

Kindly note the following:

  • All prescribed books, including those previously listed or reused for another module, must be submitted.
  • Prescribed books are essential for students to pass the module and are preferably obtained by the students themselves. This information will be disseminated to bookshops, libraries, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Submit only one format of a book per module (e.g., an eBook, if preferred). No hard copy is necessary in such cases.
  • Accuracy is paramount. Ensure the latest edition and/or year of publishing, as well as the publisher, are provided. Any forthcoming edition or other important messages may be added in the Note field.
  • Library staff do not refer to study guides when compiling the list of prescribed books, therefore academic staff must ensure that those titles are submitted to the database.
  • If your department has a textbook administrator, ensure timely communication to avoid late submissions, which may result in books not being available in bookshops on time.

Inquiries, new registrations, password assistance, or module-related issues: [email protected] or call 012 420 3160.

Thank you for your cooperation.
