Q: Job title and in which department/research entity do you work?
A: Senior Technical Assistant at the Department of Consumer and Food Sciences.

Q: What has been the highlight of your career?
A: The powerful way my small contribution at the University of Pretoria can make an enormous difference in the lives of our students.

Q: What inspires you?
A: Seeing young people grow from young inexperienced students at the university until they graduate and beyond.

Q: What challenges have you experienced in your career?
A: The biggest challenge has been Covid-19 and its restraints on the learning environment and my contribution to it. We lost personal contact with our students, which resulted in a lot of frustration, but it also pushed us to find new ways of reestablishing that contact.

Q: What message do you have for the youth of South Africa?
A: Giving up is never an option. If you fall, get up and show the world your true power.
