National University of Lesotho Students Arrive for Educational Field Trip

Students from the National University of Lesotho arrived at the University of Pretoria on February, 25 for the purpose of an educational field trip. According to Setsumi Molapo, the trip organizer from the University of Lesotho, this educational outing was to teach the students in a way that extends beyond class-room learning.

"Our [final year] students have really gained a lot by being here. This exposure to advanced technology at a world-class platform is what we wanted them to see. We want them to get a sense of the 'world out there' and we feel that coming to the University of Pretoria is where they could get this," explained Molapo. James Obuh, lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension (University of Lesotho) agrees with the notion of exposure and showing their students what is being done elsewhere.  "Every year we take our students on an educational field trip. Last year we were at the University of KZN. This year we are here, and very happy to be here indeed. Our students have certainly gained much," concludes Obuh.
