US assists in science education in Mamelodi

The agreement, which started with the signing of the original MoU on 9 June 2008, was renewed in March this year and will continue until 2015. The Mae Jemison US Science Room is used to educate and interest school learners as well as members of the community (Mamelodi and Eersterust) about science and other related academic projects and to provide the learner and members of the community with educational support.

The Mae Jemison US Science Reading Room was officialy opened in 2008 and named after the first African-American woman astronaut, Dr Mae Jemison.
