Brainstorming for Bosch

Posted on May 26, 2015

On Wednesday, 6 May 2015 the BCom (Hons) Marketing Management students had the privilege of presenting digital marketing campaign ideas to a panel from Bosch. The panel consisted of Mr Jϋrgen Lauer (Marketing Manager, Bosch), Mr Sebastian Johannes (alumni of the class of 2014 who received an internship at Bosch based on his team’s presentation the previous year), as well as Ms Kelly Farthing (PR Account Manager and Social Media Director at NGAGE).

The students made use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn as well as other digital marketing platforms, such as email marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO) and mobile marketing.

The Bosch Professional Ambassador campaign developed by Group 1 showed that user generated content is king and the way to go for social media.  Group 2 proposed the ‘Meet Benj from Bosch’ campaign to capture the hearts of power tool users and to create a face and personality for the Bosch professional power tools.

Other suggestion included an interactive quiz, creating videos with humorous content with a hashtag ‘#Tool Tuesdays’, virtual apps as well as an online virtual toolbox that will facilitate interaction with Bosch and their tool users.

The evening ended off on a high note when the representative panel from Bosch selected the three winning teams and to the winning groups’ surprise, each member received their own Bosh professional power tool!

Mr Lauer complimented the students on their ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking and creative ideas. Hard work paid off for the honours students as they gained, yet again, experience with industry clients, while the Bosch representatives received some great ideas for future digital campaigns.
