The barometer on the one side shows all journal articles and conference papers that have been submitted for publication, and on the other side shows the research that has been accepted for publication. Individuals from other faculties have come to look at the barometer and asked if they can use the barometer placard to apply the same initiative in their own faculties.
As this is the first year that the barometer is used, no distinction is made between the weight of research outputs. It only serves as an instrument to make visible the research that is done in the Department. Every entry on the barometer shows the researcher’s name and the name of the journal in which their article has been published. The barometer can be refined in future according to the development of research outputs in the Department.
No achievement or awards are linked to the barometer. Its only function is to make visible the research outputs and to show how the barometer changes on a weekly basis as staff members submit articles and papers. It serves especially to motivate young researchers and to encourage discussions between staff members about their research.
