Research Ethics applications( RIMS)

Submission for ethics review is via the electronic process ONLY. Please note that you have to abotain loggin details before hand.
To obtain access on RIMS, please send your full names, personnel or student number, preferred VALID email address and the department to Ms Dorcas Mokalapas's email address:[email protected]

Upon submission of your documents electronically, the system would generate a “Temp Number, e.g. Temp2017-0000”. Note that this “Temp Number” will be converted to a protocol reference e.g. GW 201707011HS at our REC office.
Kindly note that it is the responsibility of the researcher to log onto https://rims.up.ac.za and keep track of the progress of your research study and check for correspondence from our REC office.
