Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to UP Biomath Response 2 Covid-19, the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics web-site devoted to the mathematical aspects of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The site aims to provide a platform for rapid communication and exchange of ideas concerning the modelling of the epidemy. We invite all members of the scientific community to contribute to the site by submitting their notes containing models, simulations, preliminary technical reports and drafts of papers for discussions and opinions, as well as useful links related to the outbreak. The contributions should be sent to [email protected] and [email protected]. While the purpose of the site is mainly to generate a discussion and thus the submissions are not peer-reviewed, they will be moderated by the administrator to ensure that a scientific level of communication is maintained.

A project, called GEMDOTIS, about the use of Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) against Bactrocera dorsalis, a
fruit fly, in Réunion island, has been funded by the program Ecophyto 2018 (France). It started in June 2019. Also, another SIT project, CERATIS, against Ceratitis capitata, another fruit fly, in Corsica, is also funded by the program Ecophyto 2019 (France) and will start in January 2020. Yves Dumont is involved in both projects. The project Semilinear and quasilinear systems in fluid mechanics forced by space‐time white noise has been awarded a Research in Paris grant by the Institut Henri Poincare, Paris, France. It is a joint application of Paul Razafimandimby with Zdzislaw Brzezniak and Kazuo Yamazaki
