Three prominent visitors from tertiary institutions abroad visited the Faculty of Theology early in March in or order to strengthen their academic ties with the University of Pretoria as a centre of excellence in South Africa.

Prof Will Storrar is the Director of the Center of Theological Inquiry at Princeton University in the USA. Prof Stephen Pope is a Roman Catholic Moral Theologian from Boston College, Massachusetts and Prof Michael Spezio specialises in psychology and neuroscience  at Scripps College, California.

Prof Pope delivered a lecture at the Theological Society for Southern Africa, entitled “Is happiness the enemy of hope? Positive Psychology in light of Christian Pessimism”, while Prof Spezio lectured on “A mindful self for others: Imitatio and Models of the self for beneficent and benevolent action.”
