The Faculty of Theology welcomed its first-year students on campus and in the faculty as part of UP’s Welcome Day, held on 17 January 2015.
On this day, students and parents had the opportunity to interact with university officials, as well as hearing an address by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Cheryl de la Rey, in the Amphitheatre. Students also had the chance to tour the campus, their new home for the duration of their studies at UP.
The Faculty’s Student Administration division were available on the day to offer support and assistance in respect of all queries concerning programmes and curricula, choice of modules, examinations and any other relevant questions.
Other than receiving faculty-specific academic information, the new students could also learn more about what to expect of student life by browsing through the tents and stalls set up all across the campus. Information about student affairs, culture, health, sport and Rag, as well as faculty and day houses were readily available. Church representatives were also available to meet first-year students and their parents.
Orientation Week for new first-year students commenced on Monday, 19 January 2015. The Faculty of Theology wishes its new students all of the best for the exciting academic journey ahead of them!
