The Faculty of Theology has been selected through a competitive, peer-review process and is among only 150 institutions worldwide to have received this honor. This was the result of an application of the Dean, Prof J Buitendag.

It is the wish of Dr. Pranab Das, Executive Editor and Project Manager of the ISSR Library Project, that this collection will have a significant impact upon teachers, learners and researchers. He said that by presenting the whole collection in a visually accessible setting, prospective readers will be taken with it as a group and be drawn in. “By housing them together, a browsing reader will easily be able to move from one volume to other related ones”, he said.

ISSR has imprinted on the spine, a series of catalog numbers that will enable the Theology Library to shelve the collection by subject and author. Theology Library will also receiving a copy of The Companion to the ISSR Library but, in the meantime, information regarding the collection is available at www.issrlibrary.org. The books are categorized in a number of ways and the imprint on the spine reflects primary categories for each book.
