The conference focused on the newly discovered Manichaean texts that call for a new reading and reinterpretation of Augustinian texts.
During the opening ceremony on 24 April, Dr Jacob Albert van den Berg and Dr Annemaré Kotzé presented Prof Van Oort with a Festschrift entitled In Search of Truth: Augustine, Manichaeism and other Gnosticism.
