A Tribute to Prof Daan van Vuuren
(25 August 1941 to 19 August 2009)



Meeting a giant in person is something most people rarely experience. However this was the case for the countless students, colleagues and friends who knew Prof Daan van Vuuren. Having headed up media research at the SABC for 15 years and having shaken hands with people such as BF Skinner seemed to have no effect on the open and kind personality of this great man. His contribution to the academic and business world is only surpassed by the incredible impact he had on the hearts of those he lectured and mentored. It is with a heavy heart that we remember this extraordinary man lost to us so suddenly, for all the extraordinary experiences we were privileged to share with him.
