Prof Brenda Louw will be remembered as someone who has:
- set a benchmark of academic excellence throughout her career that has characterized the Department and profession;
- been a beacon of exemplary professionalism that has served as an example to generations of students and colleagues
- been a trailblazer when it comes to leadership - she leaves and indelible impression on the department and profession in South Africa
- demonstrated true client/patient care and empathy - she has not only taught this well but more importantly she has lived it out as an example to students and colleagues
- been a wonderful friend who has always shown a personal interest in those around her - she will be dearly missed as a colleague, mentor and friend.
