Title: “Lessons Learned on the Journey toward Success in Special Education.”

Dr Vicki Casella, Ed.D., is the Executive Director of The Bridge School, a non-profit school that serves children with physical disabilities and complex communication needs. Dr Casella has worked in special education as a teacher, therapist, professor and administrator for over 40 years. Prior to coming to The Bridge School, she was a professor at San Francisco State University and director of a training programme for teachers of deaf/hard-of-hearing students. She initiated the first academic university-level courses in technology for students with special needs. Dr Casella has worked extensively in various countries supporting the education of students with special needs.
