(NEW) Open Day 2010

Posted on May 18, 2010

The Humanities building was overflowing with visitors on Saturday! We spread our wings not only on the groundfloor, 4th floor, and lecture halls further east on the 4th floor, but also in the tent between the library and the Humanities building, the Communication Pathology building and the Visual Arts building.

This opportunity for prospective students and their parents to have first hand contact with the academics was invaluable. A fantastic team effort was made through the various exhibitions on Open Day, and the participation of every person was a contribution towards the success of this venture and an opportunity to present a positive image of the Faculty and the University of Pretoria.

 Interresting statistics on the HB-exhibitions:
- 24 Exhibitions
- More or less 300 staff and students were involved
- Two special information sessions by the Deputy Deans, supported by staff from Student   Administration
- 37 information sessions by 11 departments
- An estimate of 1000 Faculty CDs, 4 000 subject specific brochures and 600 Faculty brochures were handed out. The number of Faculty brochures may seem less than in 2009 because they were handed out during specific departmental exhibitions and not an the entrance to the building.
