Posted on August 17, 2010

Under the guidance of 14 lecturers (mainly from The Netherlands, but also from countries such as Italy, Russia and Spain) the participants had the opportunity to become acquainted with a number of aspects of the Dutch language and culture. The main theme was language acquisition, with specific focus on speech, writing, listening and reading skills. Particular attention was given to the study of Dutch grammar, expansion of vocabulary and pronunciation accuracy. Language education was complemented by a wide variety of lectures pertaining to a large body of Dutch literature, alternated with lectures centring on Dutch art, culture, media and politics by guest lecturers from various Dutch universities.

The extraordinary course was brought to a conclusion with numerous excursions to cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Leiden, Delft and The Hague, during which museums such as the Rijksmuseum, Mauritshuis and Kröller-Müller museum were visited.
