Seminar on 'Paradigm shift on Nuclear weapons: Africa's role going forward': 15 Oct

Posted on October 05, 2010

Ward Wilson is Director of the Rethinking Nuclear Weapons Project of the James Martin Center for
Nonproliferation Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. In 2007, he published "The Winning Weapon? Rethinking Nuclear Weapons in Light of Hiroshima" which posed a radical challenge to established thinking about the importance and role of nuclear weapons.

This seminar will explore the need for a paradigm shift in the way we think about nuclear weapons and will argue that Africa, the only continent that has built, abandoned and prohibited nuclear weapons by law, has a natural leadership role in that process.
