In order to present the Research Unit’s work within the international debate on comparative regionalism, multilateralism and international political economy and following on a November 2010 workshop on regionalisation in Africa, Asia and Europe, the Department will present a three-day conference on Regional Integration in Europe and Africa: models, practices and comparative perspectives, which will take place in Pretoria (South Africa) on 16th-18th February 2011.
Besides a series of panels with international scholars and experts, the conference will also include the official presentation of the UNESCO Chair on Regional Integration, Migration and Free Movement of People (a partnership between the University of Pretoria and the UNU Institute for Comparative Regional Integration Studies) and the launch of Prof. Geoffrey Pigman’s latest book, Contemporary Diplomacy (Polity Press, 2011).
