Posted on February 07, 2011

The book Criticism, Crisis, and Contemporary Narrative: Textual Horizons in an Age of Global Risk explores the role of literary and cultural criticism in conceptualizing a world in which social life is increasingly defined by a succession of global crises. “Appearing in the midst of a phase of extraordinary turbulence in the fabric of our interconnected and interdependent world, the book makes a landmark intervention in debates concerning the cultural ramifications of globalization.”

Edited by Paul Crosthwaite, this book forms part of the series Routledge Studies in Contemporary Literature.

Professor Visagie contributed an important South African perspective in his chapter entitled “Global Capitalism and a Dystopian South Africa: Trencherman by Eben Venter and Moxyland by Lauren Beukes”.

Criticism, Crisis, and  Contemporary Narrative costs $105 and the ISBN is 978-0-415-87949-1.
