UNESCO-IHE and IHP who have been instrumental in the formation of the IWHA in the 1990s because they have a vested interesting in promoting water history in all the relevant fields of research, such as management studies, engineering, natural sciences, as well as the humanities and social sciences.
From personal experience, I am aware that we have had researchers/academics and other water practitioners from a variety of fields who benefitted greatly from attending our conferences.
We would love to see more South African and African researchers attending the conference in the Kruger National Park.
We at the IWHA have a number of specialists in all parts of the world working in the field of water history from inter-multi- and transdisciplinary perspectives. Perhaps the conference would be an opportunity for South African and other African researchers to meet up with kindred spirits from elsewhere.
Would you please be so kind as to bring our conference and its websites to the attention of water researchers with who you have ties?
Prospective participants must please submit abstracts for papers, posters or similar communications media before the end of February 2011.
Details on the registration process and abstracts are available at the following websites:

It would be sincerely appreciated if you would help us disseminate the information.
Kind regards
