The ceremony was attended by the graduates, family members and lecturers. Ms Marieta Kemp, Director Social Services at the SAVF (Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie) Head Office, delivered a message emphasising the commitment of social workers to their profession. After the pledge was read by Ms Harriet Klopper, lecturer at our department, each student signed the pledge with our head of department, Prof Antoinette Lombard. The ceremony was concluded with the lighting of candles as symbol of the pledge undertaken by the graduates.
