Appointments
The Faculty would like to welcome the following staff members:
Dr Ceri Ashley and Dr Detlev Krige, both appointed as Senior Lecturers in Anthropology and Archaeology from 1 June and 1 July respectively.
Resignation
All the best to Evelyn Nagel (Psychology), who will be leaving the University at the end of July.
Births
The Faculty gained a few potential new junior Tukkies! Congratulations to the following staff on the birth of the latest addition to their families:
* Ms Thanyani Malange (Dean's Office) and husband Duke with baby girl Muneiwa Murendeni on 29 June
* Ms Janine White (Student Admin) and husband Ricardo, with baby boy Gareth Cody on 1 July
* Prof Ernst Wolff (Philosophy) and wife Luce, with baby boy Axel on 9 July
Condolences
The Faculty conveys its sympathy to family, colleagues and friends on the sudden death of Dr Ian Butler (previously of UAL), who died at the age of 50. Dr Butler was part of Humanities at the Faculty of Education prior to his death.
The Faculty extends its deepest sympathy to the following staff members who had lost loved ones:
Dr Charles Puttergill (Sociology), whose mother passed away last week and
Poppy Mashego (Social Work and Criminology), whose sister passed away recently.
