The latest edition, 48(2), commemorates the 75th year of the Tydskrif, the official publication of the Afrikaanse Skrywerskring (the Afrikaans Writers’ Circle), until the Skrywerskring ceased to exist between the 1990’s and early 2000’s.

In the same vein the edition contains a discussion of the Sol Plaatje Festival in Mahikeng, with an overview of the life and work of this pioneer of indigenous, and particularly Setswana literature.

In addition there is a variety of contributions covering a wide spectrum of Afrikaans and other literatures, both from South Africa and elsewhere in Africa and the African diaspora.
