Dean Sandra Klopper



The Faculty wishes Sandra all the best for the future as she will be leaving the Faculty at the end of the year. Sandra has been the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities since 1 October 2008. Throughout her career Sandra has held various prominent positions at universities such as; the University of Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch and the University of Witwatersrand. The Faculty would also like to congratulate Sandra with her birthday on 1 December.

Retirements

Froukje Welgens

In September 1988 Froukje started working for the University of Pretoria and in 1994 settled in the Department of English, which became her second home. The Faculty would like to thank Froukje for her dedication and hard work and wish her well for the future.

Prof Johan Bergh (Historical and Heritage studies) and Dr Florinda Taute (Social Work) will both be retiring on 31 December 2011.


Staff changes

Dr Jeanne van Dyk (Modern European Languages) will be resigning on 30 November 2011.

Prof Maria Marchetti-Mercer (Psychology) will be resigning on 31 December 2011.

Prof Alios Mlambo will be taking over from Prof Johan Bergh as the Head of the Department of Historical and Heritage studies from 1 January 2012.
