The Department of Historical and Heritage Studies in collaboration with Department Political Sciencesheld a morning seminar to mark the historic occasion of the centenary of the ANC. The target market wasthe broader student body as well as colleagues. A member of the DeptHistorical and Heritage Studies,Dr Thula Simpson, and two invited guest speakers, author ImtiazCajee (author of A Quest for Justice) and Arianna Lissoni(History Workshop, Wits and University of North-West)presented papers. Dr Simpson delivered a paper entitled “Historians and the ANC: an overview, 1961-2012” and Dr Lissone spoke on
‘Dear Comrade Chief Rep’: letters about love, marriage and family in the ANC in exile”. Mr Imtiazcajee presented a discussion about writing researching his book A Quest for Justice.
