Where: the CSIR International Convention Centre, Pretoria.
The aim of the seminar is to bring together scholars and practitioners from diverse disciplines with an interest in the management of research data in the social sciences and humanities. An explicit goal is to lay the foundation for a roadmap that will address the preservation and dissemination of relevant research data within the South African context. This would obviously take into consideration learnings from similar initiatives globally. The objectives are the following:
* Canvas opinions of key stakeholders in relation to the community's needs, interests and potential contributions.
* Provide stakeholders with an opportunity to give input for the development of a high level roadmap including short, medium and long term priorities for addressing data related imperatives.
