Due to rapid advances in technology the current Computer-Based Testing (CBT) system (Umfundi) can no longer be supported and necessitates an alternative solution for CBT. QuestionMark® Perception was identified as the best solution for UP. This system is being used by numerous universities in Europe and the USA and provides higher education institutions with a comprehensive package for incorporating objective assessment as part of their assessment strategy. This system will be implemented in January 2013 and lecturers will be responsible for developing their own questions using QuestionMark Live (QMLive).
All current and prospective CBT users are cordially invited to attend a training session in using QuestionMark Live to enable you to create your own objective items online. The training will consist of:
· an overview of writing good objective items
· creating your own questions in QMLive
· information regarding the different question types available
· sharing and collaborating with colleagues in QMLive
· interpreting the statistics to improve your questions
· information about the new processes to be followed
