This award was made for his exceptional contribution to the field of Employee Assistance Programmes. He also delivered a paper at the same conference.
This achievement was followed by four days of guest lecturing at the School of Social Work at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles California. Lectures were through contact classes as well as the Virtual Academic Centre, addressing students from across the USA. His visit was concluded with a presentation and discussion with an international caucus of master’s students in Social Work.

Prof Terblanche was also awarded by EAPA-SA in September 2011 in Durban for the category ‘Exceptional EAP Professional’ - a first time award in the 14 years of the existence of the association.
