The University annually awards Vice-Chancellor’s medals to students in all faculties who excelled academically in their undergraduate studies. Candidates must also be registered for postgraduate research studies at the University of Pretoria.
The bursary fund aims to award the Anton and Huberte Rupert Vice-Chancellor’s Bursary (Prestige bursary) to one or more students who were recipients of the Vice-Chancellor’s medal in 2013. Should a bursary holder terminate his/her postgraduate research study or not successfully complete it, the bursary is refundable to the University of Pretoria.
Faculties, via the Office of the Deans, are requested to submit a list of nominated students to the Division of Study Finance by 21 June 2013. (Room 3-38.4, Admin)
The list should be accompanied by the following supporting documents:
· Full academic record
· Confirmation that the student received the Vice-Chancellor’s medal
· Review of the research study programme
· Exposition of the costs of the studies (research expenses, travel, etc)
The Division of Study Finance in consultation with the Deans, will select a nominee for award, subject to approval by The Rupert Foundation.
The holder of the bursary will be expected to sign a postgraduate bursary agreement prior to receiving the funds in his/her student account.
The administration of the bursary fund is the responsibility of the Division for Study Finance, University of Pretoria, in consultation with the Rupert Foundation.
