Prof Anneliese Goslin nominated as one of 100 most influential people in SA sport

Prof Goslin serves on the executive committees of two international specialist societies: as Vice-president of the IAPESGW (International Association for Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women) and a council member of the authoritative ICSSPE (International Council for Sport Science and Physical Education). In addition, Prof Goslin has been appointed Chairperson of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Recreation by South Africa’s Minister of Sport and Recreation.

Prof Anneliese Goslin and Dr Gerrie van Wyk from the Department of Biokinetics, Sport and Leisure Sciences, leave for Malawi in July 2013 to present the annual Winter School on the Certificate and Advanced Certificate in Sport Business Management in collaboration with CE at UP and the National Sport Council of Malawi.

Three postgraduate students in Recreation Sciences and Sport Management, Engela van der Klashorst (DPhil), Leepile Motlhlaolwa (MA) and Kyra Cyrus (MA) from the Department of Biokinetics, Sport and Leisure Sciences have received bursaries for postgraduate studies from CATHSSETA in collaboration with the national Department of Sport and Recreation. A fourth student, Carley Lomax, has been awarded a bursary by the National Research Foundation (NRF) for her MA studies in Recreation Sciences.
