The work was performed in Ravenna and Ravello in Italy, Innsbruck in Austria and Vaison la Romaine in France.
Performing courtesy of the University of Pretoria, Snyman states that “it is always an honour and privilege being able to perform on an international platform. It gives me great insight into the work that is produced locally and how that work is perceived and received internationally. We also had the opportunity of performing in some of the most inspiring stages in the world. In Ravello the outdoor theatre overlooks the cliffis and ocean of the dramatic Amalfi Coast and in France I had the remarkable honour of performing in an ancient Roman amphitheatre circa 4BC.” Snyman has been performing and choreographing professionally for the past 15 years and in 2012 was the recipient of the Standard bank Young Artist Award for Dance as well as being named one of Mail & Guardians Top 200 Young South Africans.
Dada Masilo takes the quintessential classical ballet and turns it on its head. Fusing Classical Ballet with traditional African dance, Masilo creates an unusual and unexpected version of Swan Lake.
