Posted on August 22, 2013

Prof Don Cowan, one of UP's ten A-rated researchers and the Director of the Institutional Research Theme in Genomics, will facilitate the workshop and will address the following issues: Funding options, what constitutes a good research grant application, how to write an NRF research grant proposal and the proposal review process.

Prof Cowan is also the Director of the Centre for Microbial Ecology and Genomics. His research areas include Microbial ecology, functional metagenomics, bacterial genomics, microbial stress responses; applied microbiology and enzymology, biofuels and biocatalysis. He leads many projects related to these activities and keeps them operational through a very active funding drive; his presentation will be based on the experiences of applying for and winning many grants.

We look forward to host a maximum of 25 participants and would urge you to register as soon as possible for this event, which promises to inspirational, motivational and full of new insights.
