Procedure (flowchart) for putting issues before the Teaching and Learning Committee (TLC)
IMPORTANT information for all academics
The flowchart indicates the steps which should be followed if any changes need to be made to programmes. **NB: Please adhere to indicated due dates in order for changes to be implemented in time.

Information Manual (Humanities)

New personnel (permanent or with long contracts) each receive a manual during an introduction session to Faculty Management. However, the complete manual, which is regularly updated, is available for everybody in Humanities at the following address on the I drive: I:\Share\Humanities\Information Manual_HUM. Should the I drive not be visible on your PC, please approach IT Helpdesk to assist you.

Application for conference funding a) Application for funding for CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE

The Faculty of Humanities has a fund to assist researchers who want to attend local and international conferences. Researchers will have to prove that they do not have access to any alternative funds. The criteria are set out on the first page of the application form. The Research Committee has to receive applications at least six weeks before the commencement of the conference. NO late applications will be considered.

b) Application for funding for HOSTING A CONFERENCE

The Faculty of Humanities has a fund to assist departments to host conferences. The criteria are set out on the first page of the application form. The Research Committee has to receive applications at least six weeks before the commencement of the conference. NO late applications will be considered.

c) Application for funding for VISITING INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS

The Faculty of Humanities has a fund to assist departments that want to invite international scholars to visit the Faculty of Humanities. The criteria are set out on the first two pages of the application form. The Research Committee has to receive applications at least six weeks before the commencement of the conference. NO late applications will be considered.

Application for Skills Levy funding

Application has to be made through the Performance Management System on UP intranet by capturing the training as a need. Once the line manager has justified and approved it, the incumbent types in the necessary detail of the course, prints the form and forwards it to the HRDC (Human Resources Development Committee) for consideration at their following meeting.

Technical support (Audio Visual): Humanities Building
Please take note that Mr Justice Mavasa is the technical support person for committee and lecture rooms in the Humanities Building, and should therefore be contacted for any audio visual technical support during lectures, seminars, meetings, etc.
