Susan Coetzee-Van Rooy is a professor and the Director: Research Development and Support in the Faculty of Humanities at the Vaal Triangle Campus of North-West University. Her research interests include multilingualism, the role of English and issues of maintenance and shift in the language repertoires of multilingual people. She is the chairperson of the South African Association for Language Teaching (SALT) and has been the editor of the Journal for language teaching since 2013.

Johannes Tsietsi Mahlasela is a junior lecturer in the School of Languages, Vaal Triangle Campus, North-West University. His research focuses on language practice and applied language studies (Sesotho and English) at secondary and tertiary levels.
